Kingfisher, Europe’s biggest home improvement chain, has unexpectedly posted a 35 percent rise in first-half profit
Kingfisher, which runs market leaders B&Q in Britain and Castorama in France, said that was from reducing cuts though warm weather also helped boost sales.
But at the same time, new official data showed British retail sales generally stalled in August and the July figures were revised downwards.
