No change for UK interest rates

The Bank of England left interest rates in the UK at a record low of 0.5 percent for the sixth month running on Thursday.

The British central bank also said it would keep its quantitative easing programme in place. It is buying assets worth 200 billion euros, in effect pumping that much into the UK economy. Policymakers remain concerned about the durability of any recovery after Britain’s deepest downturn in decades.More about: , ,
