Passengers left in the lurch all over Europe by the latest airline bankruptcy are scrambling to get home following the collapse of Russia’s KD Avia.

The privately owned carrier, based in Kaliningrad on the Baltic coast, is having its licence taken away by the Russian aviation authorities after running out of money. Hundreds of stranded travellers have been told other Russian airlines will honour their tickets for return journeys for the next six weeks. KD Avia, which has 15 leased planes, said its passenger numbers fell by more than a third in the first half of this year.More about: , ,
