UK car sales up again

New car sales in Britain rose for a second month running in August.

The figures seem to show the government’s scrappage scheme known in the UK as “cash for bangers” lured buyers into showrooms. Sales rose by six percent compared with August last year following July’s rise of 2.4 percent. The scheme gives drivers 2,300 euros to trade in a car more than 10 years old against a new model.More about: , ,
