Jedermann is a German adaption of Everyman, and since 1920 it has been performed every year in Salzburg as part of the Salzburger Festspiele. The play tells the story of a rich man called by Death to the final judgement before God – and how Everyman tries to find someone to speak up for him.
Peter Simonischek has played Everyman for 7 years but this is his last season. He says he’s leaving the role while it is still a challenge.
The Salzburger Festspiele runs until the end of August.
