Spaniards forced to flee forest fires

Threatened by some of the worst forest fires raging in southern Europe, more Spaniards have been forced to leave their homes. While the northeast of the country has been hit hardest by the wiildfires over recent days, some 1,500 people had to flee after a blaze broke out last night in the southern region of Andalusia.

It is the latest chapter in a deadly week of wildfires for Spain. On Tuesday, four firefighters were killed tackling a blaze at a national park in Catalonia. And yesterday a fireman died in Aragon after the vehicle he was driving fell into a ditch.More about: ,
