Strong investment banking earning helped Credit Suisse produce better than expected profit in the second-quarter.
Its net profit of just over one billion euros came despite accounting charges and one-off items. Credit Suisse, which has overtaken UBS as Switzerland’s largest bank by market value, has proved resilient in the subprime crisis.
