Doctors could soon receive help in diagnosing melanomas, the most aggressive form of skin cancer. Currently, a technique known as ‘staging’ is the best way of predicting whether a patient will overcome a cancer but it remains relatively inaccurate. Researchers in the UK are developing a blood test that can predict more precisely a patient’s chances of long-term survival.
