Euro zone inflation falls

A steep drop in fuel costs drove down inflation in the euro zone in June compared with the same month last year.

But consumer prices continued to fall even without the energy factor. Prices rose 0.2 percent from May and fell 0.1 percent year-on-year. It is the euro area’s first ever negative inflation. The biggest upward impact came from prices in restaurants and cafes as well as tobacco costs.More about: ,
