Time is running out for NASA to launch the latest shuttle mission to the International Space Station.

The launch has been abandoned for a fifth time as electrical storms sprang up around the Cape Canaveral launch site just minutes before lift-off. There is now a 60 percent chance of being able to go on Wednesday, and Thursday is the last chance this week. The Russians have to send a supply ship up, and there is only docking space for one spacecraft at a time. Endeavour has now been grounded for a month waiting for the go. Lightning actually hit the launch pad and if the shuttle misses the Thursday deadline it will have to wait until the last week of July. Endeavour’s mission is to carry up the third and last segment of the giant Japanese space lab Kibo, spare parts, and hundreds of kilos of food for the six ISS crew.More about: Weather
