The Chateau Montebello de Bellinzona in southern Switzerland played host to a chamber music festival with a difference. Young musicians were invited to learn from and play alongside their musical heroes.
The acclaimed Italian violist, Bruno Giuranna, said, “Our masterclass produces some of the concerts that form part of the festival itself. Those participating are chosen with extreme care, and all of them have already begun brilliant solo careers.”
This year’s festival also had a special theme: The bicentenary of Mendelssohn’s birth.
For those who are not budding string players, there are still six days of concerts and dinners to enjoy.
