The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, will be buried today in the Forest Lawn cemetery in Los Angeles ahead of a star-studded memorial attended by tens of thousands of fans.

The Hollywood burial will be a private event, but the memorial at the Staples Center sports arena is open to all those lucky enough to have won free tickets in an internet draw. Singers like Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder and Lionel Richie will be giving a spectacular send-off to the superstar, who died of a heart attack at the age of 50. Police expect hundreds of thousands of people to flood into downtown Los Angeles. Nearly 18,000 of them have tickets for the memorial. EuroNews will broadcast the Michael Jackson memorial live from 7 p.m. Central European Time.More about: , ,
