SocGen expects small Q2 profit

French bank Societe Generale has said it expects to post a small second-quarter net profit thanks to earnings from its corporate and investment banking division.

That is despite one point three billion euros of various writedowns and provision on loans during that period.

The bank is due to publish full second-quarter results on 5 August.
