The only survivor of the Yemeni plane that crashed into the sea off the Comoros Islands last Tuesday has been reunited with her father after arriving back in France on a French government jet.

Although a poor swimmer, the 13 year-old managed to cling to debris from the ill-fated plane before being rescued by search teams. She has now been taken for further medical treatment to a Paris hospital. Doctors have marvelled at Bahia Bakari’s miraculous survival. She suffered only light injuries including cuts and bruises and a fractured collar bone. But the girl is undergoing scanning procedures to locate any possible internal damage. US and French military aircraft are continuing their search operations at the crash site to locate the wreckage. The aircraft came down in seas said to be around 500 meters deep. The cause of the crash is still unknown. The French defense ministry has denied earlier reports the flight recorder or black box had been found.More about: ,
