Michael Mann’s new film “Public Enemies” has premiered in London’s Leicester Square. The film stars Johnny Depp and Marion Cotillard and is a biopic about the very first “public enemy” in the US, a bank robber and gangster called John Dillinger.
Operating during the Great Depression, he became a popular folk hero but was eventually betrayed and apprehended.
Marion Cotillard says that she worked hard to eliminated her French accent for the film.
Johnny Depp says that he hasn’t seen the film and has no plans to watch it because he doesn’t like watching himself on the silver screen.
Producers however do not expect audiences to be equally squeamish about the prospect of watching Mr Depp strut his stuff.
The film is on release across Europe this summer.
