Chinese built Airbus plane delivered

The first Airbus passenger jet assembled outside Europe has been handed over to its Chinese owner.

Dragon Aviation Leasing took delivery of the A320 plane, which will be operated by Sichuan Airlines. The A320 was put together at a plant near Beijing from parts shipped from Europe. Ten more will be assembled in China this year. Airbus says it sees huge potential for sales in China and will increase production to four planes a month by the end of 2011 EADS, the parent company of Airbus, along with its rival Boeing is seeking growth in major developing markets to combat weak demand at home.More about: , ,
