Further pro-opposition demonstrations against the Iranian election results have taken place in numerous cities around the world. In Germany, Iranians took to the streets of Berlin, as the Chancellor Angela Merkel called for a recount. She also appealed to the authorities not to use violence against protesters. Banners read “Together for Iran” and “Stop the killing”.
There has been a large demonstrations in Paris as well. Thousands of supporters of an exiled opposition group held a rally. The protesters are calling for European Union governments to apply more pressure against the Iranian authorities to hold a new election.
