Joe Meek biopic hits screens

cinema

| |

“Telstar” is a biopic about Joe Meek – the legendary but fatally flawed music producer who committed suicide in 1967.

Meek, forced into the closet by the laws of the day, had an unhealthy drug habit and drank too much. He was also obsessed with the paranormal, spending time in graveyards attempting to record the voices of the dead. He suffered from paranoia, and was convinced that Decca Records had bugged his wallpaper. He was a creative genious however, inventing 101 new ways of recording and layering sound in his home studio. Telstar is on general release this summer in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, the US and Argentina.More about: ,
