The animated film festival at Annecy is also a film market, which this year attracted nearly 2,000 film professionels. 350 companies also presented their work during the 3 day event.
Happily, animation is holding its own in the face of the economic crisis and the festival has grown by approximately 10% compared to last year.
At Annecy, the public can vote for the films they like best. Tomm More collected the prize for best feature animmation film “The Secret of Kells”. American director PES was also a winner with Spaghetti Western. “L’homme a la Gordini” by Jean-Christophe Lie won two prizes; the Junior Jury Prize and the Prize for Best Debut Film. Hungarian film “Log Jam” by Alexey Alexeev won the prize for best animated TV production.
