As air travel grows, so does the risk of a medical emergency during a flight. As super carriers such as the A380 become more common, the cost of diverting a flight is also increasing. It’s hoped new, advanced telemedicine services can help avert one in ten emergency landings, each of which can cost an airline anything between 30,000 and 165,000 euros.
