The MEPs have been arriving for registration in Brussels, the re-elected and newly-elected — a new procedure for many.

Their inaugural full assembly sitting is for July 14, but before that they will need to explore where they will be working for much of the next five years, and get organised. With various reforms in place, the new legislature will see a uniform pay scale applied (although exceptions are possible) to all 736 MEPs: some 7,600 euros per month, gross, generally. A packed agenda awaits them, including work on financial regulation, climate change, consumer protection and cross-border health care reimbursement for Europe’s citizens.More about: Brussels, EU Parliament, European elections
