Euro zone inflation stagnates

Much lower oil costs meant euro zone inflation stagnated for the first time ever in May.

The European Union statistics office Eurostat confirmed consumer prices grew by 0.1 percent month-on-month in May and were unchanged year on year. But Eurostat also said that despite a sharp rise in unemployment, wages in the region rose during the first quarter at almost the same pace as a year earlier.More about: , ,
