Much lower oil costs meant euro zone inflation stagnated for the first time ever in May.
The European Union statistics office Eurostat confirmed consumer prices grew by 0.1 percent month-on-month in May and were unchanged year on year. But Eurostat also said that despite a sharp rise in unemployment, wages in the region rose during the first quarter at almost the same pace as a year earlier.More about: Eurozone, Inflation, Oil marketCopyright © 2012 euronews
