Early projections show the centre right as an overall winner in the European Parliament elections, set to gain 263-273 seats out of the parliament’s 736 seats.
The Socialist grouping the PSE stands to gain between 155 and 165 seats.
The alliance of Democrats and Liberals is set to gain between 78 and 84 seats and the Greens, coming fourth are expected to have between 52 and 56 seats.
