European cross-border MEPs in 2014 In Cyprus voting in the European election was said to be running at a much slower rate than in the previous ballot in 2004, suggesting a lower turnout.
By midday only around 26 percent of the electorate had cast their ballots. 2004 was the year the country joined the European Union along with nine other states.
