Brazil’s air force claims to have found bodies and wreckage from the doomed Air France plane that disappeared over the Atlantic on Monday.

A massive search operation has been launched in the area where it’s thought the Airbus A-330 might have come down off the coast of Brazil. It was flying from Rio de Janeiro to Paris with 228 people onboard. Earlier, investigators revealed no less than two dozen automated error messages were sent from the plane in just four minutes before it vanished. A Brazilian air force spokesman told journalists two male bodies were found on Saturday morning, along with a seat carrying a serial number allegedly matching the missing flight. The bodies recovered have been sent to the northeastern city of Recife in Brazil for forensic tests. One of the messages indicated the autopilot was off. It is not yet clear what might have caused the plane to come down in stormy weather over the Atlantic.More about: , ,
