Al Qaeda’s second-in-command has reportedly launched an attack on Barack Obama on the eve of his visit to Egypt.
In a 12-minute audio message, Ayman al-Zawahri urges his compatriots not to be seduced by what he calls “the polished words” of a criminal.
A video accompanying the recording shows a still photograph of Zawahri and footage of Obama on a pre-election visit to Israel, alongside an extract from a speech in which he pledged commitment to the security of the Jewish state.
The message was posted on militant websites that have been used by al-Qaeda in the past.
