Al Qaeda tries to overshadow Obama’s message

Soon after Barack Obama arrived in Saudi Arabia, ahead of Thursday’s speech to the Islamic world in Cairo, an Arabic TV channel broadcast a message from al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

It said the US president had planted the seeds for ‘hatred and revenge against America,’ and is simply following the policies of his predecessor George W. Bush. In the message, bin Laden warned Americans to ‘prepare for the consequences.’ The message came just a day after bin Laden’s deputy described Obama as a ‘criminal’ and warned Muslims not to fall for what he called the US President’s ‘polished words.’More about: , ,
