UK bank stress tests stay secret

The British government has refused to make public the results of stress tests carried out on UK banks to see if they have enough cash in reserve.

In response to a Freedom of Information Act request by the financial news agency Bloomberg, the Treasury said releasing the information could “increase instability.” The Federal Reserve did publish details of similar reviews on top US banks.More about: ,
