Mexican director Michel Franco’s new film “Daniel Y Ana” is in competition at Cannes, in the “Un Certain Regard” section. The film centres on the horrific kidnap of a brother and sister forced by their attackers to commit incest.
Despite the subject matter, Franco hopes the film will not be seen as a stereotypical violent exploitation movie but as an exploration of family relationships. Cannes Film Festival runs until 24th May.More about: Cannes Film Festival, Cinema, FestivalCopyright © 2012 euronews
