Coppola’s Tetro premieres at Cannes

Francis Ford Coppola’s new film Tetro has opened the Director’s Fortnight section of the Cannes Film Festival. It is the first original screenplay he has written since 1973 and continues his path back towards independent film-making.

Coppola says he although has been deflected by debts, commercial studio film-making, and the enormous success of the Godfather trilogy, he always intended to write and direct personnal stories.
