Sri Lanka airs video of Tigers leaders’ body

Sri Lankan state TV has broadcast images of what it claims is the body of the leader of the recently defeated Tamil Tiger rebels.

It comes after the group denied reports that Vellupillai Prabhakaran had been killed by Sir Lankan troops as he tried to flee the final battle.

“Our beloved leader….is a live and well,” it said in a statement.

So far there’s been no independent confirmation of any of the claims
