Continental has settled a dispute with unions over the closure of its tyre making plant at Hannover Stoecken.

It will cut back its heavy vehicle tyre production there to about 500,000 annually. A total of 300 people will keep their jobs and 425 will be made redundant. The site will remain open until at least the end of next year when Continental will decide whether to continue production.More about: ,
