Good news from Britain’s high streets where retail sales rose in April at their fastest pace in three years.

The British Retail Consortium said like-for-like sales – that is excluding changes in floor space -rose 4.6 percent from April last year. But the BRC warned against reading too much into the figures. It pointed out Easter was in April this year and sunny while last year it was in March and miserable.
