Roxana Saberi, the Iranian/American journalist who was jailed by a Tehran court for spying has been released after her sentence was reduced on appeal.

The prison term was slashed from eight years to a two-year suspended term. Saberi was jailed last month on charges of spying for the US. She denied the accusation and is reported to have gone on hunger strike in protest while in detention. The affair had undermined efforts at US/Iranian reconciliation. Her parents are their way to Tehran to take their daughter back to the US.More about: ,
