Art Cologne, in Germany, is one of the largest art fairs in Europe. It showcases modern classics, post-war and contemporary art. It attracts 180 galleries and buyers from all over the world.
The “Dark Fair” was an exhibition project within Art Cologne. The challenge was to present pieces without using natural or electric light but only candles, videos, and flashlights.
Happily, the global economic crisis was not in evidence at Cologne: the fair attracted 56,000 visitors and sales were strong across the board.
