Last week she was an unknown charity worker from Scotland who dreamed one day of being a professional singer.
 
But thanks to the Internet and a British talent show, that dream for Susan Boyle is a little closer to reality.
 
Since her performance of “I had a Dream”, from the hit West End show Les Miserables, the 47-year-old has become the next overnight singing sensation.
 
After receiving millions of hits on YouTube, Susan Boyle has truly gone global, receiving accolades from Hollywood and an offer to appear on the Oprah Winfrey show.
 
“It was a bit funny at first because they didn’t seem to accept me. But once I started to sing I managed to win them round,” said Susan.
