One person has been killed and several others injured after a man apparently shot indiscriminately at people in and around a bar in Rotterdam.

The attacker reportedly opened fire inside the busy nightspot before running outside and shooting at people in the street. One person was wounded within the bar, while three were shot outside, one fatally. The man, who witnesses said was in his forties, was wrestled to the ground by passers-by and held until police arrived. The motive for the shooting is unclear. It is thought it may have started as a quarrel in the bar where a talent contest was being held at the time.More about: Netherlands
