RBS to cut more jobs

Royal Bank of Scotland’s Chairman Philip Hampton has said it will have to lay off more of its employees on top of the 2,700 jobs already cut.

In a speech to shareholders Hampton also strongly criticised the decision by RBS’s former chief executive Fred Goodwin to take over Dutch rival ABN Amro. He said it was the wrong deal at the wrong price. Goodwin and RBS have been at the centre of public anger over the near collapse of Britain’s banking system.More about:
