Chico and Rita and all that jazz

cinema

| |

The Spanish designer and illustrator Javier Mariscal has begun work on his first feature-length animation. “Chico and Rita” is a collaboration with the Oscar-winning Spanish film director Fernando Trueba, taking advantage of his established skills as a music producer. It is a love story set in the latin jazz-clubs of Havana and New York’s Broadway of the late 1940s with the whole movie swaying to the Cuban rythms of Bebo Valdés.
