The International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia has rejected the appeal from the former speaker of the Bosnian Seb parliament Momcilo Krajisnik. The court did, however, reduce his sentence for war crimes from 27 to 20 years.

The court convicted him in 2006 for persecution, extermination, murder and ethnic cleansing during the 1992-95 Balkan conflict, but he escaped a charge of genocide. The two charges of murder and extermination have been dropped in the latest ruling. His former boss, the Bosnian Serb’s political leader Radovan Karadzic, is currently being tried in the Hague, but the Bosnian Serb’s military commander, Ratko Mladic, is still at large.More about:
