Swiss inflation rises

Inflation in Switzerland unexpectedly rose in February.

Although energy bills declined food and rents cost more. Consumer prices were 0.2 percent up on January and 0.2 percent higher than a year ago. Economists said the economic slump will dampen consumer price pressures in the next few months. That means the Swiss National Bank will have justification for lowering interest rates further to stimulate the economy which is facing its deepest recession in decades.More about: ,
