Thousands of British workers at key UK power, energy and nuclear plants have staged yet another day of unofficial strike action in protest over jobs being contracted out to foreign workers.

Workers at the Lincoln refinery braved the cold to show their displeasure directing most of their anger at British Business Secretary Peter Mandelson. The walkouts appeared to be spreading as 900 contractors downed tools at the Sellafield nuclear reprocessing plant in Cumbria. The dispute began when French owned oil and gas giant Total awarded a contract for a construction job at the Lindsey oil refinary to the Italian based company IREM. IREM then shipped over 400 workers to carry out the project, a move perfectly legal under European law.
