Norway stimulus plan announced

Norway has unveiled a fiscal stimulus package worth 2.25 billion euros.

Despite falling crude prices the Norwegian government has a budget surplus from oil revenues. Tax relief measures will costs 370 million euros and the rest will go on extra budget spending. The country’s economy has slowed sharply and the unemployment rate is on the rise as many companies have had to lay off people because of the global financial crisis.
