Aid allowed into Gaza

Protests have erupted on the West Bank against the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. In Ramallah, hundreds of Palestinians poured onto the streets waving flags, chanting and brandishing pictures of former Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat. Dozens of Palestinians clashed with Israeli military personnel near the settlement of Beit El, to the north of the city. Soldiers who came to push back the Palestinian protesters fired tear gas and rubber bullets.

But Israeli authorities have decided to allow a limited amount of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. According to the agreement, the crossings will remain closed, but trucks carrying medical equipment, medication and basic food products will enter through the Kerem Shalom terminal.More about:
