Palestinian militant chief jailed

The leader of a Palestinian militant group has been sentenced to 30 years in prison by an Israeli military court.

The Israeli army says Ahmed Saadat, the head of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, was jailed for his role in several attacks carried out by the group. He had earlier been acquitted of taking any part in the assassination of an Israeli Cabinet minister in 2001. Saadate was captured by the Israeli’s from a Palestinian prison in the West Bank in 2006.More about:
