As passengers and protestors head for home officials at Bangkok’s international airport says life is returning to normal. It had been in the eye of the storm that finally led to the fall of the government yesterday.
The demonstrators’ blockade of the airport left thousands of foreign tourists stranded for days.
With tensions easing, they have now been able leave the country.
The protestors too, have been packing up. News of the constitutional court’s decision to dissolve the government unleashed a wave of joy at the picket lines yesterday.
It was a source of huge relief for the foreign visitors caught up in the turmoil.
But analysts say the dismissal of the government will only provide temporary respite in a crisis that has dragged on for three years.
Parliament is expected to approve a similar leadership in the coming days.
