Euro start-up kits have gone on sale in Slovakia, at post offices and banks. Launch of the single currency, here replacing the Slovak crown, is just one month away. That means the coins are only for practice. They cannot be used as legal tender yet. The national mint in Kremnica started production of the Slovak coins in August. That is also when prices began to be displayed in koruna and euros. Slovakia will become the 16th member of the eurozone this January 1.
