Protestors mass in Bangkok despite police threats 

Thailand’s multi-coloured political divide has opened still further as  pro-government supporters have decided to stage their own sit-in.
 
The red-shirted UDD supporters have taken over one part of Bangkok while anti-government protestors continue to blockade the airports.
 
The Thai police have warned people they could face jail or a fine if they gather in groups larger than five. But it seems nobody is listening.
 
All flights into and out of the international airport have been cancelled as the yellow-shirted demonstrators of the PAD, or Alliance for Democracy, continue to blockade the airport.
 
Thousands of tourists are stranded.
 
Members of the Thai Chamber of commerce now say they may stop paying corporate taxes to the government because it is incompetent in dealing with the civil chaos.
 
The anti-government protestors at the airport have so far held riot police at bay.
 
Their police chief was recently sacked for refusing to move on the protestors. Tourists have been  forced to seek another way out of the country.
 
Thousands have converged on an airport near the popular Thai resort of Pattaya, waiting for their respective governments to airlift them home.
