It is a visit that won’t go unnoticed in the White House. Dmitry Medvedev is in Cuba reviving the Kremlin’s relations with its old Cold War ally. Moscow’s alliance with the Communist-run island was abandoned after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Raul Castro ended a four-nation tour for the Russian President that also took in Venezuela.

Russian state media reported that the visiting president also met 82-year-old former Cuban leader Fidel Castro on the last day of his tour.
