A suspected Muslim militant group has turned the Indian city of Mumbai into a scene of carnage. Hospitals are full. More than 100 people have died and hundreds more have been injured, including many foreigners, after coordinated attacks across the city.

Two luxury hotels are under siege. Up to 200 people may be trapped inside the Trident Oberoi.

Indian commandos have stormed the building. Explosions and gun fire have been heard. It is the same scene at the Taj Mahal Palace although many hostages have been released there.

A Jewish centre in one district of Mumbai is also under siege, following attacks on the railway station, restaurants, cafes and even a cinema.

The Indian authorities say these attacks are unprecedented.
